Yes — every camera we install gets privacy-masked. Areas you don't want recorded (neighbor's window, public sidewalk, a roommate's room) are blocked in software so they're not in the recorded clip and not visible in the app feed. Good for both ethics and any local-ordinance compliance.
Cloud-only cameras (Ring, Nest, Arlo) stop recording when the internet drops. NVR systems with local storage keep recording — that's actually a big reason to choose them for businesses. For homes, we sometimes pair a cloud cam with a microSD card so there's a local fallback.
Yes. Most homes have an old 8 VAC transformer that smart doorbells need replaced with a 16 VAC one. We test what's in the wall, replace the transformer if needed (it's a 15-minute job at the breaker), and confirm voltage with a meter before powering on.
A modern Wi-Fi 6 router can comfortably handle 8–12 typical 1080p cameras. Push beyond that or run 4K everywhere and you should be on a wired PoE NVR setup. We measure before recommending, and tell you the truth either way.
